About Me

I’m a creative or more specifically a facilitator, project manager, arts administrator, educator, programmer, marketer, performer and a maker.

This website reflects the combined practical and administrative experience I have gained throughout my 20+ year portfolio career working and playing within North East England’s cultural sector.

I work across a variety of media including theatre, dance, printmaking, visual and performance arts. I have a particular interest in interdisciplinary practice, especially that which challenges expectations and brings people together through novel shared experiences

The website is titled Smoke & Mirrors as I regard the arts as a form of magic, a practical construct that can somehow manifest the intangible in order to express, explore, inspire, connect, unite, empower, transcend and educate.

Smoke describes the administrative and managerial aspects of my work and Mirrors details the practical art that I have created. I believe that the two sides of my practice complement each other and have instilled within me an informed, holistic approach to the projects I undertake.
